Traditional Brick Cottage Garden

Why buy new bricks when there is an abundance of beautiful, old bricks just waiting to be put to good use again!  In this project we brought some new life to a front garden by re-using some bricks that were (luckily for us!) left-over from the original 1930's house construction.  We love curves at Hemson & Hoe, hence the rounded, flaring paths, and sweeping stepping-stones.

The planting was a mixture of traditional herbaceous plants combined with more contemporary shrubs to give a pleasing, calming look, whilst maintaining some colour and texture throughout the year.

Reclaimed red bricks re-used to create a sweeping pathway

A lot of time and effort ensured these brick edged curves look just right!

Brick stepping stones are used to merge the driveway gravel with the red brick of the house

The curvaceous brick path and stepping stones help to soften the house's appearance
